About Ball Street

Ball Street was built around a simple idea: what if you could follow an athlete's career the same way you follow a stock? Sports fans already debate player value every day. Who's breaking out? Who's underrated? Which prospect is about to become a star? Who's entering their prime, and who might be on the decline? Ball Street turns those conversations into a market, giving fans a new way to follow and trade the value of professional athletes as their careers unfold.

Player value is constantly changing. A rookie earns a starting job. A young player has a breakout season. A veteran begins to decline. A prospect becomes a superstar. A golfer starts competing for majors. A fighter climbs toward a championship. A player changes teams and suddenly finds themselves in a much better or worse situation. Ball Street was created to put a value behind those changes.

Every eligible athlete receives a Ball Street Valuation, or BSV, our proprietary assessment of their current value. BSV considers a variety of sport specific performance metrics, rankings, analytics, career factors, and market indicators. The exact information used differs by sport, but the philosophy is the same. If a player performs well and their career is trending upward based on performance, age, opportunity, and situation, their valuation should generally rise. If their performance declines or their career outlook weakens, their valuation should generally fall.

Ball Street is about more than the box score. Performance matters, but so do age, opportunity, situation, and trajectory. A 22 year old emerging as one of the best players in a league can have a very different long term outlook than a 35 year old producing similar numbers near the end of a career. Ball Street is designed to capture that bigger picture. You are not just following what an athlete has done. You are following where their career is going.

BSV provides the foundation, but the market can have its own opinion. An athlete can trade above or below their Ball Street Valuation based on how users view their future. That creates the question at the center of Ball Street: where do you think they are headed next?
